We wanted to share with you the process of this little piece for a Facebook timeline cover.
We wanted to share with you the process of this little piece for a Facebook timeline cover.
The first thing we had in mind was to stay out of Illustrator for this picture and sharpen our skills in Photoshop. so we made this with some soft brushes and a couple tricks we learned a while ago but we haven't put in practice until now :)
First we started with a black background, and the drawing of the basic shape of a mouth.
Then we colored the basic shape and gave it some "flesh"
After that we played with the shades to give it more volume.
Then we worked on the lights and here's where the fun begins.
While listening to a lot of Nu Disco and 80's music we decided to go that way with the look of the artwork. We wanted something sexy so we put a big and wavy jet of water going inside and spilling around the mouth.
We felt that something was missing on the background so I made some more "water" floating behind also activating that space.
Later we went crazy with the colous and layers on this step to finally find this purple color that caught our attention.
It was a happy accident! :D

We lost some constrast with that desition so we balanced it with some yellow shapes.
To later add magenta "gems" to the composition giving it a lot of movement.

To give it a more liquid look we placed some more light in the fluid.
Then I added sparks in specific points to catch the attention of the eye.
Finally we used the Sharpen filter to boost the textures in some points. :)
